Hot and Sweaty Band Practice

I had nothing special in mind when I started. A few strokes of brilliant yellow and it started running away from me. It was band practice. The sounds, the colors, the lights and the feeling that it was vibrating at full tilt.

The Symphony

Got it!

The Symphony

Listen up:

A gentle rain on the roof, a young woman playing the cello on the radio. It was the best part of my day. The brush and the paint did all the work. All I did was follow the rhythm and kept out of the way. The dogs did a good job of sleeping and keeping me company. It all came together. Will the world care? I've come to the realization that it doesn't matter, just doesn't matter at all. The grace and elegance of the music are on that canvas and I loved every second of it.

Whoops! I'm getting an error message. It won't post a picture of the painting.

I scratched Jeff Coons car with my key

Listen up:

Playing with color and line again. Andre complimented the freedom and confidence of the lines. He can be my art critic anytime. The painting is on a 36"x36" canvas and occupies an interesting amount of space. Size does matter. It's bolder because it's big. My object in making this painting is to donate it to the Lawyers for the Arts fund raising art auction next week. I hope everyone will be there to take part and support some of the people who are ready to stand up and defend us if we need it.

Snow in My Heart - Dedicated to Occupy America

SNOW IN MY HEART

I was working on this painting today and wondering where I would take it when I saw the heart and connected it with the snow expected in the northeast and the ache in my heart after watching the video that combined political speeches and police attacking our Occupy America protesters. It couldn't be called anything else except "Snow in My Heart." I dedicate this to Occupy America and the courage of all those who have come out and stood up to the establishment.

Another night, another painting. It was close to midnight when I finally finished. The reds and yellows jumped out at me and warmed the chill night. I just happen to have some gorgeous, red roses in my backyard. And, I recently lost a Rose, my dear sweet,
Aunt Rose. Her gentle voice is in this image.
